Notes for Christmas/Epiphany 2009 Epiphany song order: Basic concept worked: full set of risers, orch stays in place, choirs process up first Cherubs (Cole on processional) then Parish Youth, then Adults, then full company. Josh's solo was not on program. Make sure to choreograph movement for offertory and adults getting into place. Make sure the program includes the opening orch numbers. 2009 Epiphany repertory: Be sure to include an adult solo Bring back birthday of a King Medley. Bring back "How Great our Joy" antiphonal choir bring back Shine Down,"Once in Royal David's City" We are the Reason 2009 Epiphany logistics - You must have had the orchestra BELOW on the floor because you couldn't see them on top of the sanctuary more importantly, they couldn't see you. You need a full drum set for the rock number at end. It works best to have drummer down on floor west side. Get your book in order before you get to church for Epiphany, even if you do arrive an hour early. Can you come up with a guard to put on the brick where you move the piano around the corner? Choir: Don't use all four riser levels. USE FLOOR level for first row alto and soprano. Make sure the sound board is down on the floor with you so you can reach it, OR have Teryn there to run it and you can talk to him. 2009 Christmas Eve - make your own orchestra book for rehearsal AND Christmas morning. You were trying to use the folders and you didn't have a copy of Joy to the world (with interlude) Christmas Cantors 2009 - Mark; 2008-Becky; 2007-Joann; 2006-Bruce
2008 - Epiphany concert - use grand piano with monitor - that worked well.
Palm Sunday Concert 2011 You Who Wait Upon the Lord, full version. Blessed Mary (your original) Take Eat All of You, Narration and Lift High the Old Rugged Cross, (from Story of Love) Psalm 40 - I will bless the Lord 1982 or Deuteronomy 28 For Offertory - Steve Josh and Ingy perform Meditation from Thais
Notes for Easter Triduum For Palm Sunday morning go back to old psalm response. Stephanie did it. (ok - do it one more year for 2011) Half sheets a week ahead of time. Last year we were short. save 40 for choir. Yellow paper. Incense used - Very little Thurs, none on Fri, Bring back "Jesus Lord to Me" OK let it rest now. Thurs- Be sure to practice Pange at least once. Also father's new directive to begin Down in adoration falling (Tangum Ergo) when they cross the front. you panicked an started it in Latin. Careful! Fri- Father will do all the intercessions in the future. Fri- Bring back Via Dolorosa. OK let it rest in 2011. Fri - Add Closing prayer and "recessional in silence" to the program. OK Sat- Count Me In needs a higher key. Leave the bass parts in. OK works better. Easter Sunday You forgot the Sprinkling Rite You forgot to post the songs for the band on the web site. Include all children's songs on the posting, also.
Notes for Spring Concert 2010. Went very well. no orchestra - just singers and piano. Mark was the featured soloist. Joann has a large delegation there so be sure to feature her in 2011 ~ perhaps trio number with Jan. (This Could Be the Dawning of a Great Day) or an older Amy Grant song from the "Age to Age" album. For Spring Concert 2011: Count me in; Add "Bless the Lord" from Godspell and create a medley: (All Good Gifts, Day by Day and Bless the Lord.)
NURSING HOME GIGS You'll Never Walk Alone, It Had to be You, Darktown Strutters Ball, You Must've Been a Beautiful Baby, Hey Good Lookin', At The Hop (features Basses) A
